Fia carafe

Wine. Water. Oil. Vinegar. Indispensable on any table, and always in need of a proper presentation. Preferably made in glassware. Nina Jobs opted for a mouth-blown carafe when she created Fia.

Now her carafe has been joined with a smaller version, both sizes displaying a refined elegance that depends on crystal glass. A transparent, white, amethyst or amber ball can be used as a stopper or can nestle at the bottom adding a vibrant touch of colour. ”I once showed Anders Färdig, CEO of Design House Stockholm, my charcoal drawing of Fia,” says Nina Jobs, ’and he loved my rendering of the idea, we immediately set to work.” As one of the leading ladies of Swedish design, Nina Jobs likes her objects to address more than just one function. With its functional simplicity and straightforward forms, why not use the carafe or the smaller versions for flowers as well? ”What design is? It’s a huge question without any borders, but it’s about everyday life! Although we all have different taste in aesthetics, beauty and good function is imperative, and beauty becomes more and more important.”
