New 2010 catalogueJANUARY 4, 2010 |
| Design House Stockholm’s 2010 catalogue is now available for download (see link at the bottom of this page). In this year’s edition, we talk about the collaboration with our designers that makes Design House Stockholm unique, and is the secret behind our success, and how we keep finding new talents to our collection.
Newcomers to the 2010 collection is Step by Karl Malmvall, a high gloss stepladder that is both a beautiful wall decoration and a functional utility for the home. Sara Szyber has now added the Wing Chair to her collection of every-day life companions. Jonas Hakaniemi’s Box Light has already received an honourable mention from the Red Dot Design Award jury, and finally arrives at the stores during spring 2010. Fia is the elegant, slightly taller sister of Nina Jobs’ other carafe Barbara. Timo Sarpaneva’s classic Timo glass makes a longed-for comeback, after a few years out of production. Light Runner by Marie Thurnauer pays heed to modernist Scandinavian design, although she is French - a simple, foldable candleholder, made of woodblocks held together by soft square-cut pieces of leather. We also present our new Atelier collection, Design House Stockholm’s new venue for unique handcrafted objects in both unlimited and limited editions. First out is Silhouette - a collection of meticulously fabricated textile neck ribbons, bracelets, and belts by Johanna Törnqvist, telling stories from past and present. Monica Backström’s unisex gem Knapp comes both as a pin and a pair of cufflinks, both made of Sterling silver with a colored enamel inlay. There are also some updates. The Focus vase by Magnus Löfgren comes in two new sizes. Twist table by Philip Edis will soon be available in grey. Lina Nordqvist’s award-winning Family chairs will be available in white. And you have probably already seen the four new colors of Marianne Abelsson’s Pleece-collection, available since fall 2009.
