Harri Koskinen awarded the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize

APRIL 29, 2009
Harri Koskinen, the designer behind the Block Lamp, was recently awarded the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize of $120,000, making it one of the largest monetary awards in the field. The jury’s motivation was based on the fact that Koskinen is one of the designers best representing the Nordic design tradition, with a strong personal artistic view. The award was presented at The Röhsska Museum of Fashion, Design and Decorative Arts. The Block Lamp was clearly an influential part of Design House Stockholm’s rise to prominence, and has been part of the Museum of Modern Art collection since 2000.
