Design House Stockholm |
| New York, NY and Stockholm, Sweden (December, 2008) Design House Stockholm is pleased to announce the introduction of its first fashion line, NUMB, by designer Anna Bonnevier. The eight piece collection which consists of tunics, dresses, trousers and capes are made out of high quality knitted viscose, purchased from Sweden’s last remaining producer of viscose. Numb gives the appearance of laid back elegance that can be dressed up or down. Numb was inspired by modern architecture and the body’s own natural movements, revealing forms within hidden space. Bonnevier said “Numb is the body’s first encounter with architecture. I’m a true minimalist and have cut away everything, all that is left around the body is form and fabric this is pleasant to wear.” The fashion line is adapted from angular forms and Bonnevier hopes that the pieces will be used in experimental way to increase edginess and versatility. The Numb collection is Bonnevier’s prize-winning graduation project from Konstfack, the University College of Art, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Numb will be presented at the New York International Gift Fair in January 2009.
